EMICODE®
The EMICODE® classification system makes it possible to compare and evaluate building products based on their emission behavior, while at the same time providing an incentive to further improve these products.
Meanwhile, the trademark-protected system has become the leading international quality standard for a wide range of product categories. Since the EMICODE® was introduced in 1997, more than 20,000 products from all over the world have been awarded the EMICODE® label.
The label serves as a guide for consumers, craftsmen and architects and helps them identify which products offer a high level of protection from indoor air pollution, thereby promoting health and environmental compatibility.
Whether you lay carpeting, install tiles, refinish your parquet floor, seal your shower tub, or carry out other repair, renovation or finishing work: Building products bearing the EMICODE® seal ensure that you are always on the safe side when it comes to healthy living.
The label offers consumers, craftsmen and architects guidance to decide which materials offer maximum safety from indoor air pollution, guarantee optimum health protection and high environmental compatibility.
Whether you install carpeting, glue tiles, seal your parquet, caulk your shower tub or carry out other repair, renovation or extension work: Building products with the EMICODE® label ensure that you are always on the safe side as far as healthy living is concerned!

The label
In order to be awarded the EMICODE® label or seal, manufacturers need to submit their products to extensive testing at renowned institutes. Based on scientifically determinated test results, EMICODE® categorizes flooring installation materials, adhesives and construction products into three emission classes.
