Mean­while, this trade­mark-pro­tec­ted clas­si­fic­a­tion sys­tem has become one of the most import­ant qual­ity bench­marks for a wide range of product groups – both on a nation­al and inter­na­tion­al scale. Since EMICODE® was intro­duced in 1997, more than 15.000 products from all over the world have been awar­ded the EMICODE® label.

The label offers con­sumers, crafts­men and archi­tects guid­ance to decide which mater­i­als offer max­im­um safety from indoor air pol­lu­tion, guar­an­tee optim­um health pro­tec­tion and high envir­on­ment­al com­pat­ib­il­ity.

The label

In order to be awar­ded the EMICODE® label or seal, man­u­fac­tur­ers need to sub­mit their products to extens­ive test­ing at renowned insti­tutes. Based on sci­en­tific­ally determ­in­ated test res­ults, EMICODE® cat­egor­izes floor­ing install­a­tion mater­i­als, adhes­ives and con­struc­tion products into three emis­sion classes.
